Maloney is one of 10 female finalists throughout the state, joining 10 male finalists. A male and female winner will be announced Monday, November 10. The finalists were chosen from a pool of 1,020 school level winners. If chosen as a state winner, Maloney will go on to represent North Carolina in the national competition.
